Selena Gomez is a well-known teen pop artist as well as
actress. Despite living under the spotlight she has managed to keep herself
real and helped many people at the same time.
Selena’s first introduction to the ‘celebrity’ life was when she was casted on Barney. Later on she appeared on the hit show Wizards of Waverly Place portraying the character of Alex Russo. This was the first break in her career where she began to get noticed and got roles in other shows.
Growing up was never easy for Selena seeing as she had to face the jealousy of ‘so called’ friends. This led to bullying inside and outside of school. Instead of letting this bring her down she took it the other way and turns the other cheek on everyone.
This made her a stronger person and helped her in many ways. Today she is a well-known artist and actor. However, what most people don’t realise is that she is the youngest Goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. She also supports these charities:
· A day made better
· Alliance for Children’s Rights
· Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
· Elton John AIDS Foundation
· ENOUGH project
· Rosie’s Theatre Kids
· Ryan Seacrest Foundation
· Stand Up To Cancer
· St Jude Children’s Research Hospital
· 10x10
Although in her younger days she was compared to Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez has definitely made a name for herself in a good way. She has managed to stay on track with her life unlike many celebrities who have started off okay but then gone astray.
Selena Gomez is a good role model for younger teens because she stays true to herself as well as her fans.
